It was the Department of War when we fought the Nazis and Imperial Germany, who had a lot more goals in common with Nazis than people realize.

The german empire had barely anything in common with the nazis. Conquest/imperialism maybe. Authoritarianism and militarism yes. But the core of nazi idiologie, anti semitism and racism and arrian belief olus this occultism, nope

Authoritarian is a meaningless term.
There is a difference between the society having it and being encouraged by the government and it actively comitting genocide to persue a ethno state
Is there though? If a society is trying to murder every one of a particular race because it thinks its necessary and justified for superior races to dominate lesser races, I’m not sure minute differences in underlying philosophy are all that important, if existant.
