I bet these specific kidnapped children would take issue with your characterization. This is brand new. It just happened. The narrative may be similar to past events, and it’s definitely some believably awful American bullshit, but let’s show some empathy for the specific victims of state violence, while also criticizing the state for committing said violence. Dismissing the news as just more of the same only normalizes this kind of violence, even if that’s not your intention.

This is such a bullshit take. “Oh sure, American cops are brutalizing children now but did you know they also brutalized children before? Oh you didn’t? Oh, you aren’t completely numb to the encroaching totalitarianism of the American empire? You know it’s been happening for decades, right? Why bother being upset about it now when you should have been upset about it in the '70s? and by '70s I mean the 1770s lmao”

Seriously STFU with this. We know it’s been happening. The problem is that it’s still happening, and as long as it is happening it’s newsworthy.

      Sure, enough.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tacoma_riot_of_1885

The mob marched Chinese residents to a railroad station and forced them to board a train to Portland.[2] In the following days, the structures that remained in the Chinese community were razed.[3] The event was the result of growing anti-Chinese sentiment and violence throughout the American West.

This organized action became known as the “Tacoma method”, and despite national and international outcry, it was used as an example of how to forcibly remove Chinese residents from cities and towns throughout the American West.

They will continue to escalate, also. They need a reason to halt the midterms. If they succeed at raids without opposition they get rid of a lot of people they already don’t like, and if we fight back, tRump enacts Marshall Martial Law. This is just my own speculation, but I think we are seeing a new group of techbros, for lack of a better term, jostle for their seat at the table. We as a nation have refused to expand our positions of power even though we’ve grown in size. For example, we have a capped number of Senators.

We’ve funneled so much new money into the hands of these tech elite they have near run out of places to spend it. So we have multiple private space companies, a booming apocalypse bunker industry, and why not buy a few representatives as well. My point is a bunch of Ayn Rand 1950s sci-fi loving man children who control resources as vast as they do present a terrible condition for democracy and human rights. We are just watching this power struggle between the old guard and the new kids play out in real time. And the women, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ communities are the first to be rounded up this time.

The thing is people don’t like to hear it but history has the answer. The only thing that stopped the Nazis was violence. If Hitler’s assassination attempt in the early 1940s had been successful history would never have even recorded his name.

And violence, starts at home. The international community won’t help and couldn’t help even if they wanted to. That will come in time, but Americans have to take responsibility for starting it.

I keep seeing this. What is there to do?

Commit suicide by cop capital defense force? Because that’s basically what “doing something” entails.

Any positions that could “do something” are on the Fascist’s side, including the for profit news media. We are just as trapped in this capitalist web of coercion as we were before it went full fascist.

Why do you think filthy socialists and commies like myself were telling anyone who would listen, including getting laughed off of occupy Wall Street by the people we were trying to save, I was there, that the capital markets were our doom and our end? Because they were, and here we are.

I’m just glad their dream of this malice continuing in perpetuity truly is just a malignant dream. Climate change has something for this greedy, sociopathic civilization’s ass, and the fact that we’re turning our habitat against the species effectively permanently can’t be bribed, black bagged, discredited, dissappeared, reframed, or any of the other dirty tricks the capitalist fascists have used to get their way and steamroll the innocent.

The US, it bears repeating captured by our capital markets, keeps most Americans on a paycheck to paycheck knives edge for that very reason. The ones most inclined to strike are the ones that have the most to lose by striking.

You’re asking tens of millions of people to lose the roof over their heads for a very uncertain outcome.

The sad reality is that the capitalist bastards have their bases covered. Not surprising considering their effectively limiltess capital and the generational grudge the wealth class has over the formation of unions here to begin with.

I mean, in my perfect world the people would unite and burn the capital markets that have brought us to this place to cinder, and have a people’s tribunal bring justice to the former largest stakeholders.

That could begin to right this ship, and really nothing short of that.

But I know they’d use their media to get us burning down each other’s homes looong before we get to Wall Street, so I know we’re irrevocably cooked. What do you propose that could conceivably circumvent all the soft and hard protections they’ve put in place?

          You’re 100% right.

They’re targeting Democratic cities with large numbers of democratic gun owners because they’re hoping for a confrontation.

It might be inevitable, but I guarantee you they will not back down once you give them what they have been trying to incite.

There’s a reason Miller, Hegseth, and Bondi made an appearance, got all those armed people pumped full of adrenaline, and then literally slipped out the back door yesterday before flying far, far away. They don’t plan on being present on the battlefield for the war they’re creating.

They need people to fight and die while they give orders and watch comfortably from afar like it’s some kind of UFC ultimate match.

Bullshit. If they wanted an armed standoff they’d go to places that have high gun ownership and Stand Your Ground laws.

One of the reasons they are busting into Chicago city apartments id precisely because they know they’re least likely to be armed and anyone defending their property doesn’t have the law on their side.

These cops are functionallly bullies, it they realized there was real danger it would stop them. They’ve been avoiding anything actually dangerous for a reason. They might be able to call in a swat team for assistance, but it would destroy their ability to do widespread raids if there was legitimate fear for their own safety.

Then start talking to your neighbours.

“Hey neighbour, it looks like we are in danger, what do you need from me? What are we gonna do when these fucks comes for us, our family and our friends?”

Like stop pretending this can’t happen to anyone at this point. Because it’s not going to get any better anytime soon

If we can take any of them down with us, then it’s still a success.

          Casualties are part of war.

Yeah? Well I say we make him cream his diaper. It’s way past time to fight fire with fire. Give them what they seem to crave. The current response is not sufficient.

So where are the bus loads of lawyers? Even with today’s authoritarian reality, that should be an open-shut case. Even if ICE claims they can write their own warrants, there’s no way they’re motivated enough to write one for every unit in a large building. Their laziness trumps their malice

If you want this to stop, the city/county/state needs to bring felony breaking and entering + kidnapping charges to every individual who approved this and carried it out. And like tomorrow or as soon as humanly possible.

The kinds of people who carry these operations out do not have empathy and will only change their behavior by force. A big list of felony counts and lawyer’s fees might make them pause and reconsider.

They can just arrest/hold anyone who is not outwardly displaying credentials. The feds can bail them out, assuming they have proof… Then you start the whole process again tomorrow.
