If you read whatever article I read about this yesterday (wasn’t popsci and I haven’t read the one linked here), it goes out of the way to specifically state that we can’t say it’s the same as addiction.
My yorkie loves his lamb toys.
My dog’s was Lambchop too! Now it’s a stuffed concha.

It’s funny. One of my dogs thinks all the toys are his, but my girl dog’s boyfriend is the teddy bear, so every once in a while they bark at each other over who gets the teddy bear.
I will also pay the toy addict dog tax
