They were supposed to be cat eyes, which would have probably looked better.
how do you even fuck that up? just go buy cat’s eye lenses, any costume store has to have boxes piled ontop of each other filled with those
I mean, they also made him not use 2 swords because it was uncomfortable.
I mean, that at least didn’t look like a student film production. But the contact lens work in that show is so godawful, not just Geralt.
wait what
Witchers are supposed to have 2 swords, an iron sword for humans, elves and dwarves and a silver sword for monsters. In the show Geralt only wields one sword.
“They’re both for monsters”
I knew that I’ve played the third one but why did they do that?
because that’s actually not in the books lol.
i honestly hate the show because it’s not at all accurate to the books either in spite of that being the bulk of their marketing. that said, the two swords things comes entirely from the games. in the books he makes comments a few times about the fancy metals in his swords helping kill monsters, but he only has one at a time.
lmfaooo so what is reality at this point
Unlike the video games, which feature Geralt carrying two swords, the books note Geralt’s second sword is in a pack on his horse, Roach. The photos have yet to confirm Roach’s existence but chances are good the horse is also involved in the series. As such, it will likely be revealed Geralt’s second sword in the pack Roach is carrying.

The dialogue was so bad, I don’t think anything would have really helped.
OMG there’s an actual bird that looks that derpy? Holy shit. It looks like someone tried to bake an owl and it didn’t rise.
This effect is relatively a very simple one to edit in post and would look a lot better than contacts. This looks so cheap
I just had a mini-revelation that this looks weird because the “pupil” is on the surface of the contact instead of under the lens of the eye. These aren’t bad contacts; contacts are just bad like that. Seems that post processing is really the only option.
Yes colored contacts have that effect always, but for a show you’d expect some effort into one of the main characters appearance
Especially for emotional acting scenes. Sure use contacts for fight choreography so you don’t have to retouch every frame where he’s facing the camera but for the close ups?
