Suppose one were to advertise left leaning content creators to this demographic. Who should it be? Is there anyone for whom this makes business sense?

Dam these people have no idea how to reach men. The 2nd response of “I was so open and honest with him and talked to him about feminism anf he pulled him self out and did a gender studies class” is bordering on completely unbelievable.

People are influenced by what’s around them. To influence men you need to be in male spaces and be normal so you can pushback on stupid right wing shit when it sprouts up.

That means being in crypto, gaming, fighting, shooting, car spaces. They are already dominated by right wing culture so you have to choose your battles and not push back to often and do it in a rhetorically efficient way.

Its really on men to do this since there are very few women in these spaces.

I live in a city full of people who spout this shit like it’s the word of god.

It’s absurd. and they are totally blind to how they come across or how alienating they are to those who aren’t on their ‘every man should be required to take women’s studies’ bullshit. they live in a hugbox and if you ever challenge them… they simple label you evil.

They are the leftist MAGAts. They don’t care about people, they just care about feeling morally superior to someone else.

I don’t believe these stereotypes are very accurate today. Do we have data? I’m failing to find more than anecdotes online.

      Why are 12yo hyping crypto?

Is the average gaming culture that right-wing dominant, and why should it be so? Biggest games are roblox, Minecraft, and fortnite. It’s surely not CoD for this cohort. Minecraft in particular seems like it need not be conservative coded.

Edit: I’ve found some evidence that this reverses causality; the manosphere targets this demographic with paid advertising. They know they can exploit a vulnerable population.

I see 12 year olds in mma spaces talking about sports betting, crypto and Joe rogan. People are getting on the internet younger and younger. They know all the memes and watch the same fight commentors. They watch commentators who harp on the white replacement theory and other rightwing stuff.

Gaming isnt right wing dominated by there are games/servers that are right leaning. Minecraft has had some and roblox has a ton. There are a ton of gaming creators that lean right and influence their audiences.

Gonna copy in my comment from the other thread bc I want this video to reach as wide of an audience as possible:

Struthless has a really good video about this. I’ve seen it happen to the young men in my life first-hand. To my siblings, my friends, and - yes - even to myself at one point. And that hole is a hell of a lot harder to climb out of than it is to fall into, and I’m very lucky to have had some good, caring people in my life who helped me to do it. An uncomfortable truth that we on the left must face, is that this is an issue that will only get worse the longer we pretend it doesn’t exist.

What a positive message in this video!

I really like how he explains how to turn an “undesirable trait” into a positive one! Too easy to learn what not to do, and too difficult to find what to do. Positive messaging is needed! Thank you for sharing this insightful video!
