Who’s proposed bill is better; Cut congressional pay or pay everyone?
This is really neither here nor there, but I fucking hate listening to Senator Kennedy talk. He’s so busy jamming folksy aphorisms into every sentence that he can barely string together a coherent thought.
It’s bullshit.
He’s a goddamn Rhodes scholar. That folksy Foghorn Leghorn garbage is an act. He takes his constituents for fools.
…I mean, they DID elect him so.
Have you ever thought about the possibility that old people from different parts of the country might talk different than you? Having a different style of speech doesn’t exclude being a Rhodes scholar. Do you just look down on anyone who has different speech and so you need a way of excusing this internal conflict in your assumptions?
It’s not his accent or his affect, it’s the idiocy he spouts and the contrived ignorance. Unclutch your pearls, he’s a phony and I bet you know that perfectly well too.
And more on topic, the obvious problem with withholding congressional pay is it transfers leverage to wealthier representatives. It’s way easier for a wealthy career politician to pass up pay than it is for a newer, less corrupt representative.
So you prefer Rand’s plan of just paying everyone?
