Working on boring out this hole to 7.5", need to insert the tool holder on the end like this on my boring head. Last time I did this part, I just ran the tool in reverse and took light cuts. This time the entire head unscrews any time I touch material. Do I need a LH insert holder to run the tool out like this now?

Wow, I’ve actually never seen one of these before. Hmm.

~~Are you supposed to run it from the bottom of a bore up?

    That’d be a PITA to setup, but… Makes more sense than a left-hand bore??~~

E: no, second look shows the boring arm appears unremovable. So double-wtf.

Yeah I’ve been scratching my head on this one for a while. For now I am stuck taking baby .010 and .020 passes to keep the tool pressure down, otherwise the shank unthreads from the rest of the boring head. All in can think is maybe the original kit came with a left hand insert holder for this specific application? Idk.
