Zohran Mamdani, Ozzy Osbourne and Sinners also feature in encyclopedia’s top 20 most-read English-language pages
Wikipedia’s article on Charlie Kirk was the most read on the online encyclopedia this year, as users sought out information on the conservative activist.
People viewed the entry on Kirk nearly 45m times, many after he was shot at a university campus debate on 10 September.
Although Kirk was a well-known figure in the US as co-founder of the Turning Point USA organisation, his death attracted headline coverage around the world. More than 40% of the views for the most-read article on English-language Wikipedia in 2025 came from outside the US, according to data from the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organisation that operates the website.
I think being the top article means he wasn’t well known.
Most people had no idea who he was until maga started acting like everyone knew gim., so people looked at Wikipedia
And even people who actually had heard his name before, probably had no idea who he was or what he did
I only knew him through memes
That has been Vance too outside of the US.

Oh, that’s good. I’m stealing it :D
“How are you coping with the death of your friend Charlie Kirk?”
I got him confused with chowder
I bet most people had to look him up after the shooting. I cannot count how many times someone said “who?” when they heard about him getting shot.
Everyone sought confirmation of his death.
He was a racist that wasn’t of any value made clear by how quickly he disappeared from the headlines after he offered himself to the 2A gods.
