The pope holds no power over American Catholics. Every American Catholic I know hates this pope and the last one. They call them liberals, lol.
They’d call Jesus an extremist communist if they actually know his teachings. But who are we kidding, they’ll never learn the words of their “god”.
I am an atheist and yet I follow the teachings of Christ far more closely than any of my “Christian” friends, family, or acquaintances…with the exception of my Aunt Virginia. She was a fucking saint. R.I.P. IMHO, American “Christianity” is wholly performative and all about exclusion and/or profit.
