    Why on earth do people keep writing about KOSA and friends as if they were kids’ safety bills

    They are surveillance bills. The kids’ safety stuff (to the extent they even had them) has been disabled from the start or amended out of them at this point. It’s genuinely weird to me that “journalists” are taking seriously the idea that they are kids’ safety bills and putting that in their stories, this isn’t the first one I’ve seen that does that.

    It’s alkways hard to know whether or not to believe them, but the article quotes Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), sponsor of the House version of KOSA, as saying that as far as he was aware, the bills would not be included in the year-end defense bill and that markup wouldn’t happen til next year. Encouraging if true!
