For historic purpouses, this is what I would refer to when I say “there’s a few gems in pop music” or things of that ilk.
Sidenote : she’s not the person who did Friday chinatown, another citypop banger that was Yasuha.
sad that she was so regretful about her work in the end.
It’s a tragedy she never got to see the impact her work had on so many lives so many years later.
If you’re new to City Pop, there’s a great podcast called Primer that did a short series walking through the genre and the artists. Apparently they tended to be jazz musicians making more commercial music.
