Can someone explain?
People exist, living life as best they can.
Philosophers (such as Sartre, Stirner, and Aurelius) tend to argue that you can improve your condition in life by simply rising above it all. It’s a bit “pull yourself up by the bootstrap” and “it’s all in your head”.
The meme is a bit tongue in cheek making fun of them for being all lofty, but there is merit to their works imo.
My guess is that the plebs are doing their best with poor circumstances. The blind elite state that from their vantage point the plebs aren’t doing what the elites would, so the plebs aren’t doing their best and are deserving of the outcomes.
Don’t think so. Those 3 are philosophers (Sartre, Stirner and Marcus Antonius) and “will” is the signifier of a group of similar concepts. Maybe those philosophers are being criticized for being over voluntaristic. But I’m not certain. The question here is what “actualize” means. Is it a concept?
Self-actualization, as in discovering your core self and filtering out the social noise.
Who is this supposed to be making fun of? lol
Edit: forgot Stirner was an egoist, nevermind. Fuck you, Max, organization is power.
