Time to turn up the energy! Half our competitors have been sent home. We are left with just the top 16 owls of the world, and that number is going to keep dropping faster from here on out.
We’re coming into this match on the opposite positions I’d have expected! White Face, highest in overall score 2 years in a row, almost lost to a newcomer, and has been outscored by Morepork and Little Owl in this year’s games so far. Short Ear is coming in strong after quickly dispatching the Barking Owl.
With a good win under its wing and so many wins for lower seeded birds, Short Eared fans should be feeling some extra confidence. Shortie is a bold and beautiful owl that would look great as a champion.
Even with a soft start, one must not take White Face lightly. This owl is dangerous when it comes to OotY. It looks sweet, but has killer instincts. That silver plumage, those orange eyes, and that moustache are a deadly combo to so many would-be champions.
I’m feeling this one should be close, but let’s see if I’m right. Time to pick your favorite!
Despite some technical difficulties with Piefed and my phone making stupid autocorrects, Buffy took a leisurely win over the Northern Pygmy. From 3 fish owls starting the tournament, now only Buffy remains.
It will go on to meet Morepork in its next match, which will seemingly be much more challenging. Morepork has put everyone in the first set of matches to shame, and looks to be the surprise owl to watch in this year’s games.
