When you do it like this it’s not a shitpost. That’s the conversation, not whether any specific thing is ok or good or funny. When you give me a link to a .gov site I already saw in the coms where I upvote those things, but now you’re in the community where I come for absurdist humor, it’s my opinion that you’re doing it wrong.
The whole point is that chemotherapy mother has fewer upvotes, and therefore gets sorted lower and is less likely to be seen, than a literal link to a .gov site, in the community where I explicitly came to see wacky bullshit. The wacky bullshit is being pushed down.
Why am I here if the wacky bullshit goes lower than the politics? Why do people need to repost the same shit here that they already posted in the place that wants it? There’s no fucking karma here to be farmed what are we even doing?

I see more posts complaining about politics in /shitposts than I do politics posts.
It only takes one to ruin your day. You can filter out all the dedicated political meme communities (time well spent, IMO) but you can’t filter out the ones here because no one tags anything, no one puts any alt text, and the titles are just generic snark.
You could argue that everything is political, I feel like that’s a pretty vague rule.
