A real tree (less so a plastic one) is like having a jerry can of gasoline in your living room … then you decorate it with cheap electrical wiring that might cause a spark … then drape it all with bits and pieces of plastic.
Nah, cut 2~3 cm of the bottom of the tree and keep it sitting in water, it’ll last 2+ weeks easily and it’s not easy to set fire to a live hydrated tree, even when it’s pine.
Now putting real candles on the tree is a slight risk factor, but if you get the old fashioned or cheap kind, the candles will burn all the way down and slightly bake/singe the pine needles, and that makes your house really smell like Yule!To be fair, a plastic one is a lot like gasoline too, just in a different way
Two years ago I swapped out my old incandescent Christmas tree lights for LED ones. My wife likes seeing lots of lights in the tree so over the years, I had kept adding lights over time, by the time I last used the incandescent ones, I had about 500 lights for small 6 foot tree … it looked great and I had kept patching, fixing and repairing all the lines over time. When I finally took them out the last time, there were enough questionable connections, lights, loose connections, semi bare wires that if I had used them any longer, I probably would have burnt my house down.
Now I have 600 LED lights on my tree … it’s not as temperature warm as it used to … uses about a tenth of the electricity and it looks great … and it is less likely to burn my house down.
The tree the next day:

If you respawn there you can easily farm presents
