The whole industry is going to collapse if the RAM shortage goes through at least 2 quarters. New PCs will be too expensive and underpowered. Old PCs can’t be upgraded. This means other components won’t sell. Margins are razor thin on electronics, and companies won’t be able to survive an extended drought like this.
The big players will then sweep in and take over everything not nailed down, monopolizing everything.

The plan: sell computers with welded on RAM like crapple.
Anything for profits
I can’t say I’m surprised. I can’t imagine too many scenarios where one would want to buy a motherboard without RAM and a CPU, barring the obvious replacement purchases and the occasion you might need a feature your board doesn’t have (like PCIe gen 4 to gen 5). Yet another hardware shortage definitely puts a damper on enthusiasm too…
Maybe we’ll see motherboards come down in price to drive sales? One can hope.
