J.D. Power awards are bought. Say company A wants an award, surveys are sent out, then the answer data is “massaged” until there is something to “win” at. Then Company A is “best in first flavored circuit board on a Wednesday.”
A real world example: GM always “winning” the first initial quality award, which is something based on how the buyer of a new car likes their car in the first 90 days of ownership. 3 months is a meaningless amount of time for a car.
T-Mobile has definitely improved, but those awards are meaningless.
