    Any time I went to an interview with these kinds of jobs they were based on commission. Which is crap IMO.

    This describes a server, bartender, entrepreneur, consultant, or salesperson. It’s not unique or unheard of. It’s also far from dystopian.

      In some parts of the world, the first two aren’t tipped so income varies less. You’re not going to get as many shifts in the off-season, I guess.

      I’d argue that jobs with uncertain hours or poor notice should have an automatic +50% minimum wage modifier on them.

      It is dystopian to expect people to be fine with unreliable means of living while billionaires exist.

      If you’re fine with it you are just part of the dystopia.
