    The article says

    a supernova would have to be less than about 160 light-years from Earth to inflict this sort of damage.

    They should’ve led with that, but you know writers 🙄😄

      The closest star that could go supernova is IK Pegasi at around 150 light-years away, but it’s actually moving away from us which is pretty intersting cosmic insurance policy.
