Microsoft is working on adding a new Teams feature that will prevent users from capturing screenshots of sensitive information shared during meetings. […]
Spoiler: It does not, in fact, prevent recording or screen capture.
This is marketing towards businesses that aren’t tech savvy. It will block a few common functions but ultimately will have no effect on someone who has the slightest bit of technical knowledge.
Also, I can just point a camera at the screen…
Or a phone with a camera…literally just record the desktop screen…
What if i need to take a screen capture during meetings tho
Then you’ll need to use a camera, or some other manual capture method.
I hope it’s not turned on at my org. I use a tool to take small screenshots of text that are converted directly to text all the time during meetings. Textsniper
I also often take screenshots of the meeting window to add to my notes as a reminder.
I do as well for power point notes
Will they block Recall from screenshotting every conversation also?
You know what Teams should fix? The ability to go to a browser, find the right gif, copy the URL, and paste it into a group chat and SEE THE GIF INSTEAD OF A LINK.
