    1. The big hill in my neighborhood park.

    2. Capital Hill

I don’t really know of any other hills or why I would be near them so if I die on a hill it will probably be one of these.

Han Solo shot first. Screw any of the remakes or special editions he was a pirate and was just protecting himself from an even more dangerous pirate.

Nope. Sorry but you’re just wrong. “Han shot first” implies Greedo shot second. And he most certainly did not. Han shot, Greedo died. Green fucker with finger suckers didn’t even get a shot off.

To even have Greedo shoot reflexively as he dies fundamentally changes Han from cold blooded to standing his ground. To have Greedo miss a 3ft shot so Han can justify a response is just laughably bad. Han’s redemption (returning any the end to save the day) is cheapened by the fact that he’s not the cold blooded, do anything to survive, scum of Moss Eisley as he was in the original theatrical release.

Ok, I don’t like making generalizations, but let’s play the game:

    • Dynamically typed programming languages are for babies.

    • Having depression is not being sad. Having anxiety is not being nervous. Mental health exists and it’s very complex.

    • We should start trating unhealthy use of social media as an actual addiction, and the platforms should be held accountable for the damage they have and still are causing.

    • Sometimes older people have actual knowledge and wisdom that is only gained by experiencing life, and younger people shuld learn to shut the fuck up some times and stop pretending they were born knowing everything.

My hill: Laws that give “unnecessary” rights to people are still good overall and shouldn’t ever, EVER, be reversed. Laws that give “unnecessary” rights keep society stable and have come from past times soaked in blood. If you reverse 60-100 years of these gains, then society will collapse.

Sure. Some people think it’s not necessary to have local anti-discrimination laws against minority groups here. Some people think why should LGBTQ get married in a fucking church, can’t they just sign a paper saying legally they are as good as married without sullying the institution?

The race and gender of an actor don’t matter. Ask Shakespeare

It’s a common practice, a problem with authentic child actors is they generally change once the original actor hits puberty, so higher pitched adult voices are common.

One of the behind-the-scenes videos on a Ed Edd n Eddy disc had some funny stories of the voice actors meeting fans (e.g. Ed’s VA spotting some kid watching the show on a TV while on vacation in Jamaica and throwing in a “huh huah, thut guy is funneh…”) and Kevin’s VA had to keep doing their voice since kids didn’t believe her whenever she mentioned it.

I disagree vehemently with one of these and I thought it might make a fun little mystery, but on second thought I’ll just state up front it’s the Monty Python one.

I’ve said it somewhere earlier today, I’ll say it again here. I think Windows XP was bad, and that Vista was good.

But Windows in general is still absolute rubbish anyway.

There needs to be a mandatory parenting training course if you’re expecting a child.

Religion needs to be taken out of the government completely

I sometimes tell my kids about things I was taught, and survival habits I picked up in the “dad qualification program”. I based the idea of the program on a brief description of air force officer survival training in the book The Hatchet, and a generous dose of imagination. The kids have never questioned it.

I agree with sentiment, but as stated that’s just eugenics with extra steps. By controlling the cost, availability and/or accessibility of the course, you control who can have children. Also how are you going to enforce this policy, forced abortions?

Better imo to make childrearing a part of the school curriculum with a highly encouraged refresher course later on. That achieves the same end without risking peoples liberties.

In the UK we almost have this in something called NCT (National Childbirth Tr. … ust).

It’s not compulsory and most only do it for their first but you’re kinda so shit scared that most tend to do it.

The knowledge is good but getting a close network of 5 other couples having a baby within a month of each other is invaluable…for the mums, the dad’s are shit at keeping in touch typically lol

    • Not doing something considered for women (like cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc) doesn’t make you more of a man, it makes you more useless.

    • “Separating the art from the author” is mostly an excuse to not feel discomfort or guilt about enjoying a work.

    • Nostalgia is only bad if it leads you to unbridled consumerism. Better to use nostalgia to create new things.

    • Pajamas shouldn’t leave the house.

    • Unique names and unique spellings of names are terrible. There should be a government approved list of names to choose from.

    • Religion is the worst thing humanity has made up.

    • Waterworld is a fantastic movie.

    • Linux > Windows.
