Yep. But the point is Donald doesn’t realize his dick is getting sucked by someone trying to get a favor out of him rather than just because he’s such a swell guy.

He’s a narcissist. All he sees is compliments, not the clear manipulation behind them.

Give Trump praise, he’ll do exactly what you say. Which is why he thinks Putin is his best friend. Putin is just using Trump as a convenient idiot that’ll do anything asked as long as Trump feels he’ll be complimented by it.

All he has to say is something like:

“Oh Donny, at this time your big hands and strong will are our only hope. Won’t you please bomb Iran to protect the world and become it’s hero?”

And that’s all it takes to start WW3. And Trump would post the message thinking it’s a compliment.

Still… As a European it (well…) sucks that any of our leaders would need to go this low for favors. Even if indeed they would go for 5 percent, the message should be “thank you, and now fuck off”. It is clear he sees Europe as an enemy and it is very likely this 5pcent is to drag our economies down while he saves his from the disaster he’s creating (where do you think Europeans mostly get their weapons and military equipment from?).

So cocksucker rutte (and all the spineless clique except for Spain) gonna get assfucked too

Agreed. And if it wasn’t clear, I think Trump is an idiot. He sees everyone but himself as an enemy, including a vast majority of the country he is President over. He’s not saving the economy in our country - he’s working exclusively for himself and dismantling it for his favor.

The defense money discussed in this meeting is very likely going to Trumps family or friends (like the literal 2 Billion his son recieved from Saudi Royalty) As our economy is very much on its way to another great depression, including the corruption and needless Tariffs that caused it last time.

Everyone that works with Trump gets ass fucked, because the only thing he wants is fealty and self enrichment. There is no benefit towards our country or citizens in his actions, just himself.

At the very least, the leaders of NATO understand this, and sucked his dick over this deal just to make sure the US didn’t leave NATO as Trump has made very clear he gives no fucks about. Without the US’s military backing, NATO is at immediate threat of hostilities, certainly by Russia who wouldn’t hesitate to push past Ukraine and into Europe as Putin has made clear is his goal. The leaders of NATO are simply making a deal with the devil to avoid literal hell.

It sucks you have to deal with those consequences, but at least you have a government that isn’t banning abortion to kill more of your people through sheer ignorance.

Emperor rutte has spoken. Well deputy emperor to trump, rutte, has spoken. NATO members all agree to destroy their societies in order to boost military spending by 150%. Traitors in member parliaments will need to be executed if they object to the empire.

At least Europes war on Russia will be worth it. Every 100 years, no one left alive to remember last failure.

Mark Rutte used to be the Dutch PM and his part in NATO is to advance the collective security of Europe, now by keeping the US on board. It’s a something for nothing.

The 5% is not binding, it’s just words on a paper, not even the US spends 5%.

Furthermore, in the negotiations, they have allowed a lot of infrastructure projects to be counted towards this percentage calculations. So, there may not be much in the way of new actual military spending, just improving the roads/rails of the agreeing countries. That seems a lot easier to sell to the folks that are further from Russia.

obviously, I doubt Rutte was expecting this message to be shared. If he wasn’t a complete moron and actually doing this just to stroke his own ego, I’d actually give Donald props for leaking it, as Rutte kissing Donald’s ass makes him look terrible, and more broadly makes the European parts of NATO look terrible.

I imagine Rutte’s intent is to stroke Trump’s ego to try and keep him interested in NATO, but I feel like that’s a fool’s errand. Trump doesn’t give a shit about anyone else but himself. This new agreement, with NATO signatories needing to commit 5% of their GDP, feels like a grift for the benefit of U.S. defense contractors. The U.S. cannot be trusted to actually honor their agreements anymore, so why pay more into their alliance? Is Europe really that scared of further Russian aggression?

The US has always been at the helm of NATO. The US Empire is the reason NATO exists, the EU is thoroughly vassalized and subservient to the US. If the US was kicked out of NATO (lol), NATO would crumble, and the EU would be forced to either trade more with Russia or China to make up for the utter loss of their position in the western imperial system. The EU cannot stand on its own, it depends on imperialism, and currently relies on the US sphere of influence to perpetuate itself.

Yeah yeah, US exceptionalism much? You would be surprised how little Europe depends on the US, but as you imply, it’s become an abusive relationship that Europe needs to get out. Russia is no alternative for the US. The reason Europe needs to sever ties with the US is that it has become too much like Russia. China? Yes Europe does a lot of business with China already, that is not about to change.

They’re massively investing in European defense industry, not just buying more from the US. They are scared of Russian aggression and they are scared the US will not honor NATO agreements which is why they’re committing so hard to defense spending. Also, I believe it’s 3.5% for military and 1.5% for infrastructure.

They are also spending big on domestic arms production. France will be a big winner out of this since they’ve long valued independent military arms production and the rest of Europe will want to buy French stuff (yes along with American stuff) while they get their arms production up and running. South Korea is also a big arms supplier internationally.

The reduction in US support for NATO is largely part of a pivot to focusing on Taiwan and China. The US military industry would love it if the US focused on both and kept cozy relations with europe. I’m sure they’re happy with the whole world increasing defense spending amid rising tensions, but they aren’t happy about the US scaring away customers. I hate how involved the US military is globally but acting like Trump is some mastermind of American imperialism is reductive and giving him too much credit. The thought that Europe shouldn’t be worried about Russia (the ones currently invading a European country) is bonkers.

There was immense nationalism and ethnic violence on all sides, which NATO used as justification to bomb thousands of civilians to death along with key infrastructure in order to prop up a western-friendly regime. NATO intervention didn’t help the awful situation, it only steered the outcome into the favor of the west at the expense of war crimes.

The Albanians were also committing extreme ethnic violence against the Serbs. When NATO bombed Yugoslavia, it killed over 300 Albanian civilians and over 1700 Serbian civilians, destroyed 164 state-owned factories, and bypassed UN approval against NATO’s own charter. Not a single private, pro-western factory was bombed.

The real reason NATO bombed Yugoslavia was because Yugoslavia refused to become a colony. Yugoslavia had agreed to give up Kosovo, but wanted the FRY to retain political and economic soveriegnty, and prevent NATO occupation. NATO countered by wanting full access to the FRY’s communication, infrastructure, and territory. Yugoslavia refused, and then NATO bombed them.

NATO involvement was about economics, not a humanitarian concern. NATO wanted open and full access to as many markets as possible, even if it meant bombing those who go against them in any real way. Just like what’s going on with Israel and the US bombing Iran, and NATO countries like the UK and France assisting Israel in air defense.

NATO didn’t stop a genocide; it aided one[1][2][3].

During the latter half of [the 1990s], Yugoslav authorities engaged in a brutal counterinsurgency against the Kosovo Liberation Army. An Al Qaeda-connected extremist group armed, funded and trained by the CIA and MI6, the KLA sought to construct an ethnically pure “Greater Albania” - a Nazi-inspired irredentist project, uniting Tirana with territory in Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia - via insurrectionary violence. Come September 1998, hostilities had erupted into all-out war. A UN Security Council Resolution that month demanded the two sides implement a ceasefire.

Yugoslav military forces were duly withdrawn from the province - in turn, the KLA exploited the army’s absence to intensify its bloody rampage, seizing further territory and purging non-Albanian inhabitants. A dedicated OSCE unit, the Kosovo Verification Mission, was also created to ensure Belgrade’s ceasefire compliance. KVM was granted full, unimpeded movement anywhere they wished locally. Their presence proved pivotal not only to the KLA’s savage crusade, but NATO’s subsequent criminal bombing of Yugoslavia March - June 1999.
