Any mail service that supports PGP encryption at rest, like mailbox, is better than proprietary solutions like Tuta or Proton, as it lets you manage your own encryption key, and use any client you want.
because andy yen is pro fascist.
They said they didn’t have the resources to manage their Mastodon account, yet they can manage 12 other social media accounts 😂
I think we all know that their excuse was a lie.
As I’ve said before and will many times again, anything that touches crypto"currencies" turns to shit because it means having succumbed to greed.
It’s a Crypto Cult Science.
If everyone was on the fediverse platforms they would only need 1 account instead of 12.

Proton was born out of a desire to build an internet that puts people before profits, create a world where everyone is in control of their digital lives, and make digital freedom a reality.
From Proton’s website
This has sparked me to look at Tuta.
One thing that Proton does better than Tuta - allowing PGP encryption. Like, if you want to send an encrypted Message with Tuta, to someone who doesn’t have a Tuta account, it needs to be a link and a password.
The idea of E-Mail is that it should be as vendor agnostic as possible. Tuta has a walled garden vibe. Securely e2e with other tuta users, but unencrypted with pretty much everyone else.
Though it also took quite a while for Proton Mail to integrate PGP properly.
I have bad news for you… they recommended brave browser and made a blog post about gnoopix ( a distro that proudly integrate Grok )
Is Posteo still good?
Been using it for 2 year now. At least they allow third party email clients and the service is cheap (1€/month)
I mean tbf they have Brave as their 9th suggestion (out of 10). I would prefer that they just didn’t have it but yeah.
They’ve also removed the Gnoppix stuff, which is a bit weird. But mega ick either way.
A bit of a shame since I bought a year sub after switching away from Proton last year due to the ceo mask slipping
I like how they recommend Zen in their Firefox forks list despite the creator/main contributor seemingly having little understanding of security. The UI is nice though I guess.
Maybe I’ll just use mailbox.org or encrypt my emails with addy.io at this point :|
I honestly think it’s not that weird. Bluesky is what took off. Doesn’t mean it’s right, but it makes sense.
Nah, they had more followers on Mastodon than on Bluesky when they left (and even now). It was because they were getting roasted on Mastodon after CEO’s comments and other stuff like adding a crypto wallet.
Ah okay that makes sense.
