  • Depends where in the world you are. Some places have had the foresight to regulate the loudness, priximity to housing and the time window where you are allowed to make noise. Other places in the world have different temples competing on which one can afford the loudest megaphone, placing them right outside some poor peoples appartments, knowing they are immune to criticism.

Islam: 5 times per day. ~3 min each.

Church bell frequenzy vary more per local tradition.

  • I assume they are referencing the US practice of washimg chicked carcases in chlorine.

The EU claims that allowing that type of washing makes producers less incetiviced to avoid bacterial contamination elsewhere in the production chain and therefore more likely to expose customer to disease. US companies treat the animals like shit, and treat the meat like shit and then argue that washing the carcases in chlorine solves it and makes it a more competetive product that they really want to sell on the EU market.

The US market only ever optimise for cost. So they get shitty products. Since they have lots of monopoly going on, they get shitty and expensive combo. Other markets try to make ‘good products’ competetive and regulate markets, so the products available will be good and reasonably priced.

Allowing sub standard US products on the market will make for more expensive and more dangerous products.

Cut away a generous part around a mould spot, inspect crossection. Looks good? Smells good? Then it’s edible. Mould is everywhere all the time. If you can see it or smell it, don’t eat.

If you are worried about the mould and microorganisms you can’t see, then you will have to eat everything right out of the oven, made with freshly ground flour.

This has happened a few times in my life. Feels kinda like when you use a muscle wrong and it starts cramping, just that in this case I somehow swallowed wrong. At least it doesn’t last for very long. Once my leg started cramping while I was half-asleep. Fuck that hurt for what felt like 5 minutes.

  • As long as they are not full of oil, which would cause ecological damage, Ukraine is doing us all a service in ‘retiring’ these boats. These shadow vessels are catastrophies waiting to happen, as they are below standard, non insured, poorly maintained, and falling apart while transporting crude oil and chemicals. They also turn off their transponders, increasing likelyhood of collisions.

When they spill their oil in your countrys waterways, you will have to pay to clean it up. It’s not cheap. To Putin that is an externalized cost for his invasions of neighboring countries.

The only way they stop is if it’s not economically sound. That happens when the ships start sinking. It’s cheaper to sink all the ships than it is to clean up an oil spill.

Help nature, help your wallet, help Ukraine, sink a shadow tanker.
