I’m mostly half-serious.
Well they’re doing a good job because I do not fuck with my fellow Americans.
Now that Harris lost, it seems like people are agreeing with you.
I thought Roe v Wade would move the needle but apparently immigration is more important
Maybe you could say this if the election was close. But the Gaza-Isreal voters are a drop in the bucket.
In reality it’s both the campaign and the voters. But it’s easier to just blame voters. Lemmy/Reddit will down vote anything that goes against that narrative: but as we just saw, Internet echo chambers do not determine reality.

Literally any criticism of the Democratic party. Like how Biden dragged his feet on withdrawing and then we “didn’t have time” for a primary.
Or criticism of foreign policy. Afghanistan was a cluster fuck and it seems both parties support Israel no matter what.
Letting the electorate focus on border security instead of protecting women’s rights was another obvious blunder, but no one expected Abbott to bus migrants to liberal cities. Republicans are really good at making immigration an issue.
When the going gets tough (and we all agree things are tough right now) you just need to appeal to fear and tribalism.
Passions are too high right now; say the same thing after Harris wins and maybe people will hear you. It’s like how everyone was on board with freedoms lost during the Bush-era (after 9/11). Years later we wonder wtf happened.
I am so ready for this election to be over
The funny thing is, if you don’t fit into the culture (or even just disagree with moderation) people tell you to go start your own. Which is like telling you to go sit in a corner by yourself.
The culture is not conducive here; Lemmings have no chill.
Its the downside of being a melting-pot: too many different worldviews. The Australians could get together and ban guns, the Irish could fight for women’s rights. Here, if one side of the country tries to enact change the other side will fight tooth and nail to stop it.
Comments like these do less than nothing. We need to actually go outside and organize against the people taking our freedoms away. Protests, signing petitions, civil disobedience, even just donating goes a hell of a lot farther than writing comments on the internet.
There’s always been terrible things going on, but now the internet allows us to inundate ourselves with news daily.
