The NYC buses with dedicated lanes actually do have that! So it probably wouldn’t be a huge leap for ambulances.

Pretty sure fire trucks, ambulances, and cop cars in NYC can all do that. The issue isn’t the lights, it’s that drivers in NYC often can’t (No curb space) or won’t (Far enough away that they’re convinced it isn’t their problem yet) pull out of the way.

The date in the upper left corner of that mega-wide display says November 8th.
There’s no plus side that you see. But to a US military led by far right zealots, opening a war by slaughtering hundreds of children is both a psychological gut punch to your victim nation and a dopamine hit for your sadistic brain. Plus it generates future terrorists, which justify maintaining a culture of fear back home.
It was absolutely intentional.
Cox Media Group got kicked off Google’s ad partner program a few years ago when 404 Media scooped that they had a feature called CMG Active Listening which did exactly this. They had a slide deck. Audio spying by advertisers is like doping in pro sports, everybody does it and you only get caught if you’re stupid. Remember back in 2013 a whistleblowing NSA contractor told us to put our phones in the fridge if we wanted to have a secret conversation? He had a slide deck, too. The western world is run by a cult of pedophiles, the fact that our phones listen in on us without our consent is not a stretch.

Rare case of majority of Americans being correct.

Veiled threat? We’re unilaterally carpet bombing them! OP how do you accommodate this kind of propaganda in your media diet? I could never tolerate it.
20 minutes ago I passed an access-a-ride mini bus (Run by the public transit agency) parked in the curb bike lane with it’s blinkers on in front of an apartment building. A building with over 40 units, an open air parking lot, and a lavish back driveway with full entry on the opposite side of the block. It would have been far more convenient for the bus driver, the person being picked up, and every endangered passing cyclist and driver for them to pick up their passenger in the designated passenger pickup area but no, there is a bike lane that isn’t yet being blocked and so that is where the bus must be.
I wanted to cut the bus driver some slack and complain that municipalities don’t do enough to provide loading / unloading curb cuts but I can’t even do that when there’s a huge-ass driveway taking up a third of the property already and they’re not even using it.

This is just one industry drinking another industry’s IP milkshake.
Luciferian Towers is my jam, Anthem For No State III hits me hard in the catharsis every time.
FYI Bandcamp is owned by Epic (Of Unreal and Fortnite), but notable enshittification has not yet begun. The site still lets you play unpurchased audio in full (A certain number of times), offers DRM-free formats after purchase in perpetuity, shares 80-85% of music and merch sales with the artist, doesn’t nag you to use their app when you’re on their site, and runs several weekly radio shows spotlighting new releases.

Some good reading about the National Endowment for Democracy aka NED https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Endowment_for_Democracy
I credit an intense compassion for animals and resulting veganism to my autism.
Just wanted to put that in this thread without making it a direct response to anyone. Sometimes it can be incredibly alienating and disconcerting to encounter people online who say they can’t be vegan because they’re autistic. It’s a very diverse spectrum with a multitude of manifestations, and I’d like to go on record as proof that it swings toward positive outcomes and not only negative ones.

Parking enforcement used to be seperate from NYPD but was subsumed around the late 80s / early 90s. Some US cities still do it that way though, I live in Portland these days and parking enforcement here falls under the bureau of transportation.
Oh come on now the rest of your country is even more a disaster on this front than the USA is. And don’t you guys have some half hour time zone differences too?
Cheers to Queensland, British Columbia, and a portion of Arizona for being sane on time.

FWIW I believe Queens Boulevard is one of the rare automotive cesspits of NYC that actually wasn’t a Moses project. He did have a plan to make it even worse by turning it into an expressway, but never got around to it.

This is a protest by those car dealerships against that bike lane. The bike lane is less than 10 years old and was hard-fought for by the de Blasio administration against the dealerships in this section of queens. After the lane went in the dealerships started parking their cars on the public sidewalks and encroaching into the bike lane as much as they could just to be assholes. The cops of course cannot be convinced to do jack shit about it.

Don’t buy a gun because it’ll make you feel safe. Buy a gun to piss off OP.

Right, and that’s toxic. I can only think of one popular ideological tendency founded on resentment. You’ve gotta be able to move forward and bring people in, not stay stuck in 2024 scolding people you couldn’t convince.

I’m an anarchist. I voted for her. You’re nursing a toxic resentment narrative. I don’t blame you, this shit is stressful.
I once paid over $400 to put a muffler onto a hatchback that a previous owner had deleted, I must be a fuckin genius.
