What the hell? This is most insane thing I’ve read in a while. The EU is not fighting Russia at all, but Russia has been undermining the EU for 2 decades now. Russia attacks EU neighbours to keep them out of the EU, and talks about attacking EU countries. And Russia has not the slightest interest in joining the EU.
Meanwhile, it’s the US that’s siding with Russia against the EU. So yes, Europe needs to take its defense a lot more seriously.

It’s not just young Americans; it’s also old Europeans and people from many other countries. It’s genocide experts, human rights experts, and basically everybody who opposes genocide, who are all horrified and disgusted by what’s been going on.
For most people, but especially for the rich, a liveable environment is far more important than a bit more money. Nobody who has saving money as their first priority is going to be living in New York anyway. But a liveable city that’s safe, fun to be in, and that you can move around in without fearing for your life, those are far more important to most people.
So I’m not surprised that Mamdani’s victory is drawing more people to NY.
Every action is a vote for something. It never hurts to consider the consequences.
By all means push forward a better candidate than Newsom. And I hope you succeed. But if you don’t, and it turns out that in the end it’s going to be either Newsom or Vance (or even Trump), then who would you rather have?
A big problem in computer security these days is all-or-nothing security: either you can’t do anything, or you can do everything.
I have no interest in agentic AI, but if I did, I would want it to have very clearly specified permission to certain folders, processes and APIs. So maybe it could wipe the project directory (which would have backup of course), but not a complete harddisk.
And honestly, I want that level of granularity for everything.
