I doubt that would be a make or break requirement for getting hired somewhere but it definitely could be the thing that differentiates you from another candidate applying for the same job. Honestly you should go ask the mechanics at your local shop for their opinion. They are usually pretty personable and the few I’ve met were very eager to help new guys get started in the trade. Could also pay off when looking for a job later if they keep you in mind.

Any idea what it weighs? I have the two stage ego and my biggest complaint is it’s too light (I think). I’m going to 3d print a couple mounts so I can hang weight up front and keep it tracking under the snow, it pops up and skates over hard pack without concerted effort. Curious what I should target weight wise.

To your point, I have ridden literally thousands of miles, and I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve witnessed a car run a stop sign or red light. But in nearly every ride, countless cars veer out of their lane and into the shoulder, especially on left-hand bends.
I will usually risk hugging the shoulder on long straight roads with good visibility, the feels like the best mix of personal safety and sharing the road with others, but never take my chances in the twisties. I want to be seen.

I have a 23’ SR/S I picked up new in May of this year! It’s actually my third bike, I sold the other two ~15 years ago and completely stopped riding. The Long Way Round motorcycle documentary series with Ewan McGregor and the sequels are what got me back in to it.
There is nothing like riding an electric, it’s just a different experience. It’s crazy to twist through the countryside on a motorcycle while still being able to hear the birds sing as you woosh by.
