I needed two similar pieces of wood to prevent my sofa from banging against the wall and damaging it.
Cut the pieces and it was ugly and misshapen. Have a hand pane so I shaved off the jagged bits.

Miter boxes don’t help when you can’t keep a saw steady.

You already have a bench vice, because you are asking questions like this. The things you’ve got in your pictures can, and are, doing everything a bench vise can do for you. What dissatisfied you about your original set of blocks? I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve that might help you out
My issue with the miter box was I started to curve a bit and cut into the plastic. I aligned it to finish the cut and ended up with (not pictured) messy zigzag.
I got sandpaper and my hand plane out and realized the danger my fingers could be in so I clamped it up.
I think he just wants to add a vice and not get advice.
I’m just sharing my workaround for not having a bench vice… Felt to bust out 4 clamps for this. It still wabbled. The biggest issue ia my clamps being taller than my work piece so I hit the clamps with my hand plane.
I was making a pun.
Holy shit i missed that… Need my coffee!
