It might sound odd today to ask whether someone else’s sexuality is justified. But that’s how the long-running World Values Survey phrased it when they began decades ago. Keeping the phrasing consistent helps show how attitudes have changed, but the fact that it may sound outdated now is, in itself, a reflection of how much has changed.

Followed by an incredibly sharp rise in the years immediately following where this chart stopped.

Sadly, I’ll be surprised if this half-joke is at all wrong,

It seems to have stayed mostly stable.

Well, there was one homophobic voice cut short lately at least.

Dutchie here. Not gay. During an office party one of the bosses mentioned a new employee was “part of the club” (i.e., gay). I found that so disrespectful I quit.

Not to say homophobia is not an issue here and feels like it’s been on the rise past years (within certain more ‘conservative’ demographics). But yeah, the average Dutch person couldn’t give a flying fuck.

These numbers to me are just bizarre to me. One third in the USA, holy shit! Land of the free, except if you’re not like me.

that would be a question that makes question sense. that is not what they asked.

poles often have questions they think make sense that don’t unfortunately. if I didn’t always try to duck up poles anyway….

I’m sure the people who are pushing for the bathroom stuff would make an exception if they saw buck angel following their wife into the bathroom.
