    He threw it, it hit a cop, it was technically assault on a police officer.

    Technically, throwing a grain of rice at someone is also an assault. That’s where common sense comes into play.

    Grand juries are part of the system in order to make sure that bullshit charges like that don’t make it to court. And yes, I’m also aware that prosecutors know how to game the system to get indictments. But the grand jusy system still serves as a sometimes-reliable 2-inch crap filter.

      Nope. If you throw an object at a police officer it is a felony.

      This was purposeful Nullification. A normal jury exists to screen bullshit.
