This has been my interpretation for many years now. They got away with the fact that the public was apathetic for many decades, mostly because the times were good for most Boomers. Now people are motivated and all the cheap tricks they used in the past are no longer enough to keep the sentiment at bay. They WILL lose here but it’s a question of how long it takes and how nasty it gets.
