TL:DR version, OneDrive sync on a new phone broke shit.
Yes. But somehow worse: Specifically, OneDrive sync broke shit on the PC, without opting in on the phone, and after being uninstalled on the PC.
This makes a lot of incorrect assumptions and shows a lot of misunderstanding of how things work.
When you upload things to onedrive they do not automatically download on to all of your devices that onedrive is signed in on. That’s just not how it works.
This person has used tools to remove and turn off parts of the OS, and that is most likely the culprit of their issues.
The primary purpose of Windows is not to function as an OS in much the same way as the primary purpose of Chrome is not to function as a browser. In both cases their primary purpose is to be a data collection and advertising platform. The fact that Windows functions as an OS at all is merely the carrot to keep you accepting the stick.
For decades now both companies have been experimenting to see how small of a carrot and how big of a stick they can get away with before the majority of people say no more. So far neither company has actually found that limit. It turns out most people will happily let you piss on their head and tell them it’s raining if it means they can mostly keep doing what they’re used to.
