Buying monero in the UK is quite a hassle, none of the exchanges support it, presumably because the government doesn’t like people transacting in a currency they can’t track. I have a small amount of monero already from mining and i recently purchased another small amount from changenow.io
Being such a small amount though the fees were pretty crushing and i have heard some shady stuff about changenow withholding funds. i sent like £10 worth of Bitcoin and ended up receiving like £6.60 in XMR. i want to purchase probably around £500ish of monero this month and am wondering if there is anywhere more reputable i can exchange? preferably without the need to create an account (i was able to just send btc to an anon address and specify the payout address without an account on changenow)
I will also be exchanging litecoin for XMR this time since that seems to be the recommended way of doing it
Hey if you’re still needing some XMR, I can see if I can sell you some for some Litecoin. I want to build my Litecoin position, but I don’t have the mining equipment for it yet. Also Retoswap, and Bisq, and Eigenwallet are really good options. (Eigen wallet doesn’t support Litecoin sadly)
I did some larger transactions successfully on changenow.io
For safety I think I’ll stick to exchanges. If you want some litecoin and have some XMR and you aren’t a scammer trying to get ur mitts on me coins then you can probs do the reverse transaction on changenow.io too
Well I’m glad you were able to get some good swaps. I’m not a scammer haha, I’m just trying to build new P2P relationships in the Monero space. I appreciate you replying to me, I will check out the exchange you recommended.
