Also potentially implies that a male authority figure presence didn’t “set them to rights” by supplying adequate threat.
Of course. I was just advocating for a kind of equal treatment myself. Growing up without proper parenting/guidance sucks, regardless of the number, gender, or relationship to self of said parent(s). Even “complete” families can (and often do) suck at the job. I’ll never understand the idea conservatives have that just because they’re the child’s parent, they automatically know what’s best for their kids - they usually provably don’t.
