What happened to RubyGems, Bundler, and the Open Source drama that controls the internet infrastructure.

I don’t remember exactly how but it left a realllly bad taste in my mouth, and not because of speed. And I don’t recall other solutions thinking to provide aliases for python and pip commands either.
