    Another similar line stuck out to me.

    For many of my friends, adulthood meant not learning from parents but explaining the world to them.

      Yeah, that one hit me, too, but I don’t see it as similar. I think it was very spot-on considering the insane rate of change prevalent today. In my roughly five decades of life, I’ve watched things go from a relatively leisurely pace to what we have today where learned skills are frequently outdated within just a few years. It’s felt much like watching a boulder grow and accelerate ever faster as it rolls downhill, demolishing everyone & everything in its way.

        You’re right, the only real similarity is change itself, as you said. That’s all I was thinking about in that moment.
