Wild that somehow America is much more idiotic than when Dubya was president. I really felt like Green Day had “sold out” with this album because everything was so on the nose, but I honestly don’t hate it now.
I could literally point to any political song from any punk band’s album between 1985-2008 and ALL of them would still be relevant today. America has always had the same problems, it’s just culminated in something so absurd that now people want out at any cost. With one example being The Gray Race from Bad Religion: EVERY SINGLE SONG aside from maybe Pity The Dead is still extremely fucking relevant to today’s political climate. That’s how bad things are.
