Yeah that one is a bit citation needed. I was looking into making a laser a while back, and kept bumping into regulations about certain power levels being considered a destructive device. This is especially problematic if burnt out cameras are being investigated, and you just happen to have a laser gun in your backpack.
A handheld slingshot has 1/2 the velocity of a .22 load and the projectile is about 10x the mass of a .22 bullet. Short range accuracy is very high with a small amount of practice.
