Bacon sarnies are served hot on a buttered roll or toast with red or brown sauce. Sort of like the American grilled cheese, it ceases to be what it is as soon as you mess with any aspect of the formula.
No lettuce? No tomato? Just bacon between two slices of bread? If that makes it so high up I’d like to see them try an actual BLT.
