I’m currently learning Python, but in the meantime I still want to try a simple simulation of my ideas. I just need a program that lets me create particles and forces with whatever properties and interactions I want that I can then simulate. I’m on Linux

And I think I recall Looking Glass Universe using such a program in her video about light in water.
And I think I saw her use something like that involving some planetary motion. Or maybe it was Dr Becky or Angela Collier? But I think Looking Glass Universe uses such programs more often.
