Frankly, that seems entirely reasonable. If I invited you into my home, I’d have the same expectations.
Or, put it another way: As per the Golden Rule, if you mess with things in their residence without permission, you can hardly complain if they do the same, no?
Edit: Although throwing heavy furniture at people is still somewhat over the top. I would personally have taken a more pedagogical approach.
