The MDL(Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd) is anticipating the start of one of the biggest destroyer acquisition plan by the Indian Navy also known as Project 18 Next Generation Destroyers.

These Destroyers will be the largest ever built in India and by that you can anticipate that they will be the first f their class. Some sources even anticipate that ships of this size and weight should come under Cruiser Class, so we can also call it as India’ first Cruiser Project. Each Vessel is estimated to weigh around 10,000 Tons.

However some sources also say the project anticipated could also be Project 15c, a follow on of Project 15b destroyers also called Vishakapatnam Class Destroyers. This variant will be more advance and stealthy.

This whole project is estimated to cost around 70,000-80,000Cr Rs ($8-9 Billion).

So in both the cases, it’s a win-win for us and our Navy.
