Welcome To Narnia
Clothed in autumnal colours, streams tumbling beside us, waterfalls on every steep rockface, and the beauty of the long fjord leading to the sea. Magical.
Fjarðardalur, the “Feather Valley,” softly lit by sunlight from behind us and patched by cloud shadows ahead.
Looking like a scene from a fantasy novel, this is Mjóifjörður in eastern #Iceland.

Not to rain too hard on your poetic license, but Fjarðardalur in typical literal Icelandic fashion simply means Fjord Valley. Fjörður=fjord, while Fjöður=feather and it would have to be Fjaðrardalur. And it isn’t.
But it sure is pretty 😎

Ah, you’re right! I was probably thinking of Fjaðrárgljúfur, duh. That’s what you get for not actually speaking the language. 🙄😆
Thanks for the gentle correction. 'Preciated.
Ah, yes, that makes sense.
@logi @mo Not sure I can see the difference between the two icelandic words for fjord and feather… unless, given the difference between the latter and the longer word in the next line, there’s an “a” missing? (Definitely not a speaker, and someone totally bemused by the character set, and lots more!).
