What’s so funny about this is 1. Bugonia is a remake of a Korean film, 2. the director of Weapons was immediately hired to make yet another Resident Evil movie, and 3. Marty Supreme was based on the life of a real person. He’s 0/3 on his examples.
I’d call that 2/3. Bugonia is a remake of the Korean “Save the Green Planet”, so he’s wrong about that being original. “Weapons” is indeed an original film; the director being hired top make yet another Resident Evil film doesn’t detract from that. “Marty Supreme” may be a biopic, but it’s still an original film, rather than a remake of an earlier film. That does mean that it’s an original project.
