    My current cycle is about 5-6 years.

    I only upgraded my 2020 phone this year because I was worried I wouldn’t get any trade in value next year, but the phone generally worked just fine still.

      Trade in value? No, if it works I will keep using it until it no longer works at all. All my phones have been pretty cheap so it isn’t going to have trade in value anyway, the Pinephone is the most expensive phone I have ever bought by quite a bit. I don’t think I will ever spend 3 digits on a phone unless we see hyperinflation.

      Could be tempted to spend a little bit more if we see more Linux phones though. Although currently my phone could be argued as not even working very well, almost always struggles with signal now. But I make so few calls I haven’t bothered replacing it. May consider something second hand to replace it.
