When a government owned and operated service becomes a privately owned and operated service they need to lose and renegotiate all the concessions and free stuff they get, before anyone can claim it’s a financial gain to the government.
Are there any success stories of a privatization of a government monopoly in the long term? One time cash injection to the government followed by decades of bailouts, failing infrastructure, and reduction of services.
