To be fair, for most of that 40 years it was pretty tough to make a Netflix adaptation of a Stephen King book.

I’ve heard that there is enough material to release the third book by King/Straub. I hope that is true.

What do you mean by “there is enough material”? King is writing a third book, not with Straub who sadly died, but based on ideas the two of them had about another sequel. It will also be one of the last novels that King will write since he has announced that he will retire soon.

They did discuss the plot and exchanged notes. How many notes, I don’t know. While it’ll mostly be King, if it ever comes out, there will be traces of Straub.

It is wild what it takes to get things made in “Hollywood”. King is one of the most financially successful authors in history and Spielberg is one of the most financially successful movie makers in history and even they have projects fall apart.
