‘With the help of the same proprietary TCL NXTPAPER 4.0 tech as the aforementioned high-end 60 Ultra handset, this hot new mid-ranger promises to keep the lights on for up to an incredible seven days between charges. That’s possible despite the use of a no-longer-remarkable 5,200mAh battery, but only in a Max Ink Mode designed with “immersive and distraction-free” reading in mind.’

So up to 7 day battery life if you use it in eReader mode

Bloatware preinstalled and unremovable, no unlockable boolader, AND no guarantee for 5+ years of os support? Hard pass.

    Cool idea. Poor execution.

This article is a goddamn ad.

Here’s my take on this, if anyone needs the info: I already have a nxtpaper and the screen is indeed great. Very pleasant to read on it and it also features a low brightness mode, particularly good for night reading ( awful in sunlight though ). I was tempted to get their new 11 tablet to see the new 4.0 screen, but they took out the jack, update to android 15 and added AI to the bloatware. And it looks like they did the same with this phone.
