    Meshtastic uses AES-256, which is a symmetric encryption algorithm. I’d much prefer it if it could use some kind of asymmetric algorithm with perfect forward secrecy like what other encrypted messaging apps use.

    Its current implementation can lead to “store now decrypt later” attacks, and with the government probably having access to quantum computers, is not something I would feel comfortable with long term.
